Updates fix the most of the issue! (Windows Update + Smart Notebook Update + Firmware Update)
Remember you can't touch on the smartboard when you use Chrome! Updating Windows fixes the issue.

Also, unplugging the power cable and pressing the ON button (to get rid of the static electric) and plugging back after awhile is helpful too!

HOW TO update the firmware:

CAUTION:
  • Do not disconnect your interactive flat panel from your computer during the firmware update process.
  • Do not touch your interactive flat panel's screen or input button during the firmware update process.
  • Do not turn off your computer or your interactive flat panel during the firmware update process.

To update the firmware

  1. Ensure your interactive flat panel is connected to your computer. 
  2. Launch the firmware updater at the following location:
    Operating systemLocation
    Windows (32-bit)C:\Program Files\SMART Technologies\SMART Product Drivers\ SMARTFirmwareUpdater.exe
    Windows (64-bit)C:\Program Files (x86)\SMART Technologies\ SMART Product Drivers\SMARTFirmwareUpdater.exe
    Mac OS X operating systemHD\Applications\SMART Technologies\SMART Tools\SMARTFirmwareUpdater.app
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions using your computer's mouse and keyboard. Don't touch the interactive flat panel screen.
  4. Select the check box for the SMART product you want to update, and then click Next.
    A progress bar appears.

ISSUE
When using Chrome, touch events aren't recognized by the browser even though the Windows touch cursor is visible.

SOLUTION
  • In the Chrome browser, enter chrome://flags in the address bar. 
  • Browse to Touch Events API.
  • Select Enabled in the drop-down menu.
  • Restart Chrome.
